A Flower A Day

In 2013 I asked my students to commit to a moment of awareness a day.  To stop every day for a moment and look, and listen and smell. To be a role model, I made a commitment to photograph a flower every day. This turned from a random exercise into a great love. Slowly openning myself to the

pure beauty of the flower, the unmediated vitality of nature, And the flowers opened to me, revealing beauty and life. An exercise of a month has become a year, and now seven years later, and thousands of pictures and many moments of beauty and connection to nature that provide daily exhilaration and gratitude.
